I'm afraid I don't remember the name of the analyst who recommended shorting VRSN.

I wouldn't know, of course, if this was the rec you read, but Michael Murphy recommended shorting VRSN in the 6/98 issue of "Overpriced Stock Service". He recommended shorting over $32, with a target of $25. Unfortunately, he also recommended a stop at $41, which was hit, so if you followed him literally, you were stopped out just before the recent drop.
