Overpriced compared to what? It is about time that we have more publicity about how *underpriced* DELL is relative to its growth rate and PEs relative to growth for the rest of the S&P 500.

DELL is a fat, over-priced pig.

Oh come on. Hes at most 15 lbs overweight. Expensive, yes.

Elwood,
The stock is STILL in a long term uptrend.
Has not broken down under its channel.
Only negative: it is under 200 day MA.
Consolidation phase here. Market pressure.
Not quite ready to short this thing.

you pay more for a solidly built brick home than you do for a stubble hut. dell began it's run up reaching $110, but hong kong knocked some wind out of its sales. the current market environment says little about dell's upcoming report.

many stock prices show little resemblance to current/future sales vs. current stock value. dell's future is very bright relative to sales regardless of how you shake the current stock price, especially on a one day valuation basis. the analyst we follow clearly expects dell's stock price to move 75% above it's current valuation over the next year or so (without giving his specific time frame which i don't believe would be appropriate at this time; take it or leave it)

Elwood,

I see that you decided to come over to visit from the CPQ thread.
I see your stock is up somewhat on NO earnings and they have not really begun the restructuring yet either. CPQ is really a bloated and inefficient operation with no true year over year growth in revenues or earnings.

Wonder what the earnings are going to be for the next two quarters?
Will CPQ stuff the channels again?

When this big retail stock promotion for CPQ is over with, will CPQ to tank again on no earnings?

RE: << No big pre-earnings run-up??? Could signal an end to a long and stunning run! It's about time that Wall Street woke up and realized that DELL is a fat, over-priced pig>>

Actually, Dell doesn't always have a pre-earnings run-up, look at the charts going back a couple of years and you'll see what I mean. It's only recently that these run-ups happened. Probably a symptom of the over-optimism that characterized the market in the days before the recent big dip. Now we have been frightened back into sanity, I guess.

Also, I seriously doubt that Wall Street thinks DELL is a pig. Just because it's not advancing onward and upward mean nothing. Please note that almost every stock has been hit hard the last few weeks. In fact, Dell is holding up much better than the average stock. You're right though about it getting a little ahead of itself.

Elwood, feel free to short DELL at any time. Otherwise, I'd suggest that you give your mouth a much needed rest.

Talk, talk, talk....

I'm staying LONG!
