Tim, if I may...

1. we are in a correction and the worse is yet to come, i think we are going to get one good hard hit but i do see things turning to the upside in about 4 weeks.

I disagree. The bottom has been reached, there is much pent-up buying until warnings season starts in mid-9/98, the next big market hit will be in mid to late-10/98 (last year's nerves), and another run up starting in early 1/99.

2. clinton and that messy dress.

Non-issue to the markets. Foreign nervous nellies have already had chance to bail.

3. asia

Again, non-issue. China will not devalue for many reasons. If they do devalue, it would be 1999 at the earliest. I've been very closely following this and making nice money on VIP and CHL.

4. russia

Again, Clinton is visiting Moscow on 9/1/97. There may be a G7 deal in the works. If Russia devalues, it is such a small part of the world economy that it wouldn't really matter. If China devalued, though, it would be a big deal. I believe the Russia fears are already factored into this market.

5. nervous investor's (snowball affect)

This can change on a dime. Lots of money on the sidelines. Volume is usually light in August.
