Just b/c Qualcomm has a patent/s on Soft Handoff(and other technologies) doesn't mean that Ericy /Nokia /Mot /Lu /Phillips can't develop a similiar technology which implements it differently. Have you ever noticed that there are alot of different patents on picture tubes? How about phones? I even remember a guy on the LU thread talking about A/D conversion, there are different implementations. Of course, this takes money..... dave
