I would like to know what the WDC posters think of a post I've put on the QNTM thread:

"Any thoughts on why WDC still has a short position 5 times that of QNTM or SEG? As of July 8, WDC still has over 10 days outstanding to cover while QNTM and SEG are just over two. This just adds to my thinking that WDC is behind QNTM and SEG. On the other hand, if WDC can keep up, the shorts will be exploited and forced to cover giving a jump to the stock price."

I'm thinking it may be time to take a look at the DD sector again since it seems that the excess capacity problems that hammered the stocks is finally turning around with the recent reports of 3 - 4 gig shortages, signs of DRAM prices finally firming up, and reports that the box manufacturers are seeing an upturn in business. While I owned WDC during its better days, I hesitant to commit any money to the stock thinking that WDC has fallen behind QNTM and SEG both. My discovery of the short issue noted above also says something to me. Any thought WDC supporters?
