Why would MMs or shorters cover now if the company is going down the tubes next week? Wouldn't they reap the greatest benefit if they waited until it was $.00? Mike

Don't be fooled. I'm telling you that it is no coincidence that MTEI went to speak with their lawyers today and trading resumed only after their meeting. If it was going to open it would have at the bell and not late in the day. The MM, and the the rest of the bunch are all involved with trading on the pink sheets. You think the OTC:BB can be played with? It is nothing compared to the Pink Sheets. They are letting shareholders get out now to back the pressure off some. Guaranteed. Man think about it. MTEI was mentioned on CNBC, WSJ and brought to light by the SEC. With this it trickled down to Christensen and the bunch. You think they want even more exposure and their doings? They know the disparity involved with the Pinks. If you bought in at .05 - .10 I don't blame you for selling. I placed a market order to sell a few shares at 3/8 when it opened, just for a test and it did not move. They follow these threads, know what was going on with a potential Class Action Suit, knew shareholders were banning together. Don't let these people burn you again if your going to lose big when you sell. And do not believe that your case will be strong if you sell, it will show that you complied with the current price. LH

My 2 cents: I tend to agree with this post from Jetter. Not because I'm starting the "oh, there must be a huge short position here" song. I think that one has been well over used on these boards in almost every stock. And this not to mean that I don't believe there is a short position. What my conjecture is is that we may have had forced upon us the only way shorts are indeed forced to cover. If they (the shorts) have indeed sold shares they do not have, in the hopes that they could buy them back much cheaper on down the road, I don't believe they are safe if the stock never trades again. I don't know this for certain--it's not my area of expertise--but it seems to make sense--and it's the only explanation that makes sense to me right now. Sorry folks but let's face it, who in their right mind would be buying this stock right now? Unless they had to. You know MTEI had nothing to do with the stock openning up again. It's probably safe to assume that there is really very little buying interest out there. So why would an MM file the paperwork and open trading? Only logical reason to me is that they MUST cover their short position. IF they are reading the writing on the wall they can also sense that there is certainly a very real chance that MTEI may cease to exist in the near future. Ergo, they need the stock to trade before that possibility takes place and catches them having sold all these shares short that they never had. No more delaying the inevitable if that were to happen. If this is the case--we may see a higher bid come next week--I think most of us feel that it's not really worth selling at 5 or 10 cents--that's just ridiculous! Anyway--as I said--just my 2 cents--interested in other opinions. Stop stressing--it won't help. Shaun PS--this might also explain why the bashers are still here.
