Sai, According to the info you posted in #963, MMs catch the trades... that is, they execute the trades in any direction. Shorting to cover the buys as necessary. Does or doesn't this mean that when there is such a jump in volume that they are short selling more shares to cover what is a daily increase in interest from buyers based on the belief that this interest will subside before their shorts are called? Thus they can cover their shorts with cheaper issues? And also by covering the buy with shorts, they will not let the price appreciate so no momentum can be created thus also insuring that their short positions are easier to cover? How long can the MMs do this? And won't they put themselves in a precarious position if their calls are close to the date of anticipated news like earnings? Or, in the case of PNL, the release of P2? Thus who needs internet gambling when you can be an mm? z
