Don,

He was shorting the boxes during their best days and giving bad advice for years about them. He's the blind squirrel who finds an acorn now and then. You can argue that point with him forever. He doesn't get it.

OTOTOT Don,

My experience of Fleckenstein is that he is not particularly knowlegable about Techs.

Your October 27 interview with William Fleckenstein contained a number of incorrect assumptions about Cymer, Inc. that we feel strongly need to be addressed. Cymer, Inc., is the leading provider of excimer laser illumination sources for use in deep ultraviolet (DUV) photolithography systems for semiconductor manufacturing.

In the interview, Mr. Fleckenstein is quoted to have said:

"[Cymer] make[s] UV bulbs that go into semiconductor lithography equipment."
Cymer, Inc. develops and manufactures excimer lasers for use in DUV photolithography systems. It is incorrect to describe an excimer laser (or any other type of laser, for that matter) as a "UV bulb."
