If you want more memory in your Compaq, just ask the guy at Best Buy or where ever you buy computers to put more in. I got an extra 16MB when I bought my laptop. They didn't make me put it in by myself.

As for the rest, I couldn't really tell you what 2MB of video memory compared to 8MB means. I hear that's just good for games...I almost never play games. Well, I do play card games. Is that extra 6MB going to make any difference? Speed of the hard-drive? Is that 1 millisecond really going to matter?

The fact is Compaq's Presario is cheaper than Dell's. I went to both homepages and Compaq was less than $100. Sure Dell's machines might have 8MB compared to Compaq's 2MB, but who really cares except for techno geeks?? I know I certaintly don't. I'm just concerned with the important stuff, like monitor, Zip drive, CD-Rom drive, RAM, etc..
