M the 5, Based on what I read, during the panic times ['29], the ticker fell behind many hours and made the crowds even more nervous.

Same thing happened in '87. I ran over to a Schwab office to watch it unfold. The ticker was about an hour behind, however, we had the pleasure of having an old gent there that actually went through '29. When someone saw what IBM had fallen to, they asked him how long his stocks took to recover. He noted a couple still hadn't and that he used the shares for TP during WWII. -vbg-
