Potential of substantial dilution to Ligand's stockholders:

"The Company has incurred negative cash flow from operations since inception and does not expect to generate positive cash flow to fund its for at least the next year. As a result, substantial additional equity or debt financings will be required in the near future to fund the Company's operations. There can be no assurance that any additional equity or debt financings will be available on acceptable terms, if at all, or that such financings, if consummated, will be adequate to meet the Company's capital requirements. Any additional equity or convertible debt financings could result in substantial dilution to Ligand's stockholders. (emphasis added) If adequate funds are not available, the Company may be required to delay, reduce the scope of or eliminate one or more of their drug development programs or attempt to continue development by entering into arrangements with collaborative partners or others that may require the Company to relinquish some or all of their rights to certain technologies or drug candidates that the Company would not otherwise relinquish. Any inability of the Company to obtain additional financing or of Glycomed to service its obligations under the Debentures could have a material adverse effect on the Company."

Henry,
I never questioned your integrity on science but often
times found your hyping of stock price totally wrong.
But this specific post is making me to rethink the whole equation.
It looks like you selectively report positive speculations omitting
other potential -ve aspects.

Hope Ligand turns around soon.

I think that they are getting ready to do a deal or two, and their partners will take an equity position.
