Astea does not play in the same high-end space as Vantive. They are more of what I consider low to middle tier. Also, I have rarely seen a large support center that is based on web-enabling technologies as their main access mechanism. Web-enabling is more for customer self service, not heads down call center. This is not a knock against Astea at all. I just don't think the comparison between the two is valid in the upper tiers of customers. Astea is very strong in their market space. I believe they got hit with some year 2000 issues that forced customers to look at other alternatives. My understanding is sthey are recovering from that issue. IMHO Cheers
