Lots of new posters the past few days, and a few possible shorts starting to nose around here too. Anybody see the CNBC interview so we can get some gut feel's? (The MacCentral report was very useful.) No jokes about Jobs storming off the set, I suppose.

The new Apple print ads are fabulous. They really lay out the case for the iMac (really, no pun intended at all) in a compelling way. It's out in Business Week. Got my SI too, but no print ad in there. (Sports Illustrated! You guys need to get out more.) It'll be in the next issue and I'm sure Time, Newsweek, et all will appear soon.

I get my first glimpse of the iMac in about six hours. Love the top down view from the print ad.

A great close today and I'm glad I still have 1/4 trading position left. Amazing how the Nasdaq and Apple turned around the last few minutes, despite Ron Insana trying to get people to admit on air that very important support lines were ready to be breached. Mr. Negativity of the past couple months, Jerry Favors, wouldn't even bite, saying that 8400 on the Dow was a meaningless number and that he sees a big rally starting at any point now.

Tried to cut and paste a snippet but the damn thing isn't bitmapped. Anyway, it points out that Apple spent $85 million launching the Mac in 1984 and that Compaq has doubled its consumer marketing budget this year to $50 million. Therefore, the iMac ad blitz is the biggest consumer launch ever, and twice what Compaq will spend. It bodes really well for consumer/retail market share.

Just as important, it turns out that the new Beetle sparked interest in Volkswagen's entire line and lifted sales across the board.
