Todd,
The short position increased from 80,000 to 280,000 as of July 31 according to the Financial Post. I suspect that the short position is now over 400,000. I am guessing based on the downward pressure I see. Nesbitt has been a major seller this week after doing the private placement @$14.00 last November! They must have some really happy clients...NOT. I emailed Tita Gonzalez of Greenstone with a bunch of questions last week. She indicated all my answers are in the annual report due out this week I believe.

The trading indicates people are unwilling to hold any longer and are taking their tax losses now. The major question is Greenstone's cash position and the progress on the various projects. In general gold prices are under pressure and gold companies even more so. The exact opposite environment of 2 years ago. There will probably be some companies going under very soon. I do not expect to see a turn around until you see increased M&A activity. This is what is happening now in the oil patch and it is one reason that I believe crude oil prices will be much stronger than most expect 6 -9 months out.
