That's because Intel is in a position to throw money at its technology challenges to make them go away. Other compaies are forced to be a little more creative.

Again, good for Intel that it's in such an enviable position. I just found it funny to see its VP of microprocessor design admit that Intel's technology has not been the reason for Intel's success.
