Let me add a third:

3) Regardless if its over, when will it recover?, therefore I will stand aside.

My fear is if even if the big selloff ends, there won't necessarily be a big "V" rebound. These stocks could languish until there is a jump start in the demand side (Asia) or a meaningful pullback in the supply side. I don't have much confidence in either of these two happening very soon. I'm very sensitive to the concept of time value of money, so although these may appear to be bottom fishing bait, I'm not biting now.
