FWIW. Just got my issue of WORTH mag for Sept. Their list of stocks to avoid and their guess at fair value of said stocks are:
AMZN $20.
BAANF $20.
BSX $40
CCI $90
CPQ $15
DELL $40
HBOC $15
NKE $25
NVLS $20
TXN $30
They also have a list of stocks to consider, but the delta's are not as expansive.

I'd say we've got a fair to middlin' chance of hitting M.Burke's goal of dow 4500 by EOY '99. He still had a third of his put position in CIEN and unloaded today. That was a nice call.

Thean, How do you correlate all your investment prowess with this statement? I am a little bored on Friday evening.

My mother always told me "Money can't buy happiness but it can sure take you uptown to where the action is". gg

Trading gap up stocks today:
I've been watching GPS for a few days and people wanted out of it yesterday pretty bad at the close yesterday. Today via an analyst recommend it gapped up real pretty like for me to shorted it.

SPLS which I shorted last week for 1/2 pt. gapped up thanks to an analyst recommend and beating earning estimates by 1 cent. With a P/E of 40 something - well, this didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what to do in this market. It closed 3 points down.

HDI continues to roll down, at first support now - closed out of this one as it is a Milwaukee stock afterall.

Doc, Given your internut daytrading success, we couldn't interest you in a trading clinic on the fine points could we?

I'll be watching some of the apparel stocks next week as they announce earnings and will update. If ANN doesn't kick butt after the recent run up - well...

It's amusing the number of people interested in shorting that damn tower company after it's fallen 10-15 points. I got my 3/4 point and ran away. Glad for you brave ones who stuck with it (more than once).

P.S JHR - been hearing bad things about NVLS as well. Knight at NKE said today it will be a couple years for them to turn around.

Thean, I think you are wrong. OGSI is not the key to success. OPM, other peoples' money is. <G>

BTW, TA is nonsense, but this was a very intelligently written post.
