Alex,

That article put quite a bit of blame on the Chinese for selling the YEN. I believe the Chinese are minimizing they exposure to the YEN in light of worsening Japans financial situation.

There may be a factor that the Chinese may be doing it intentially, but we will never know for sure. I believe there are still a few old timers still in influencial positions, who witness the inhuman treatment of the Chinese during WWII. Many do not realise that the JAPANESE killed millions more innocent Chinese than Hitler killed Jews.

Its a part of history that Im sure the Japanese now would want to forget. I just would not be surprised if some Chinese old-timers are doing it intentially.

Just a possible observation.

Seeya

I call the Chinese actions smart! If the Japanese won't support the yen with their huge US$ reserves why should the Chinese? The Chinese export economy is only 20% of their GNP and they export to a different sector than the Japanese exporters. The Chinese could put extreme pressure on global markets if they devalue the RMB but would have very little internal effect on them. This serves as a warning shot to the Japanese to get their ship in order fast.
