davedmg - Re: " How's about some of you tech types explain to dunderheads like me why the outlook for NSM has deteriorated so badly in just one week? TIA.

That article about catching Intel with JalapinCayenno - did you notice that NSM never gave a delivery schedule - no product introduction date.

Ever wonder why?

Think about it.

Paul

dave,

The fundamental problem is that Cyrix drops checks in the mail to their shareholders, but the mail never gets delivered.

Pravin.

I post this message from the Yahoo! NSM board with permission. It sounds like the voice of reason we NSM longs need to hear:

I believe that much of the volatility of NSM is due to a misunderstanding in the investment community as to what NSM is. NSM stock reacts violently to any Cyrix related news - as if Cyrix was the sole product of this company. The fact is that Cyrix accounts for less than 20% of NSM revenues, and the Cyrix product line operates at lower margins than the rest of the company. Nationals only products are semiconductors, and they offer a broad variety of those - from power supply control chips, to interface circuits, to amplifiers to microprocessors. This broad line of chips makes them less vulnerable to individual parts of the semiconductor market (like PCs) and more influenced by global economic conditions. It is true that the Cyrix product line has great potential for the future, but since the acquisition of Cyrix, National has turned in poorer performance than they would have without Cyrix.. Look at the whole company, and what you will see is a financially sound firm, making it's way through the stormy waters of a general economic downturn. <<
