RE: compeition

An engineering geek magazine I receive called RF Design has a cover story on RFID systems in the July edition. A quick perusal has no mention of Racom and/or Ramtron. Hmmmmmm..... I don't know if RCOM specifically targets this market, but the RFID systems do use nonvolotile memory. In the back of the mag, in the help wanted classifieds, there's an add from Intermec looking for engineers to work on their "recently acquired breakthrough RF ID technology at 2.45 GHz from the IBM TJ Watson laborotories. This technology is a microwave-powered wireless memory integrated onto a single silicon CMOS chip. This extremely low cost technology will enable new ways of tracking... blah blah blah"

I thought the FAA was helping fund some RFID technology for luggage tracking. I remember after the TWA flight that blew up 2 years ago there was a lot of talk about this, and Micron Communications was quick to introduce some initial products. After that, this same magazine had an article about RFID and Micron was highlighted. Might have been written by a Micron employee, most of these articles are submitted by industry. So much for objectivity with these free magazines.

Had to come over here to this thread with my spare time since the RMTR thread is dead. Thank goodness, mabye we truly have bottomed out.
