I know nothing about the PII chip shortage except what I read on shopper.com, but the PII300 is said to be the sixth most popular of 100,000 products and no store claims to have them in stock. techstore.com has a good price ($230) , no inventory (lists it at - 20,946 which I guess is "backorders") and claims availability after 9/1/98. PII266 is out of stock at most offering stores -- probably at all. PII400 is mostly out. PII333 is mostly in. PII450 at $699 is said to be available 9/15/98 at techstore with a backorder(?) of -544.
