The marketing hypes call it seeding your market ,
D'ont worry about profits when market share is at stake grab as many customer's as you can lock then into a certain tech or standard then sit on the accounts and reap profits from the backend,

all in all a very normal practice in the hi-tech comm industry

and one that i am glad to see that Westell management is using, it shows they have market savvy and balls
