IDT Unit Cuts Intl Rates Up To 60% To Most Called Nations
Dow Jones Newswires

August 13, 1998

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- IDT Corp.'s (IDTC) Net2Phone will cut rates on its
personal computer-to-phone service to 10 cents a minute to most of Western Europe.

IDT is also cutting international rates by up to 60% to the 25 most frequently called
countries, which, according to the company, represent an average 70% discount off
traditional telecommunications pricing.

In a press release Thursday, IDT said the company is achieving the cost cuts by
terminating more calls through recently installed local gateways and improving voice
compression techniques, enabling more voice to travel using less bandwidth.

The company is also achieving these cost cuts through general telecommunications
deregulation
and by using IDT's current telecom network expansion.

The company doesn't expect these reduced rates to impact profit margins on these
routes and is passing on efficiencies and reduced costs to customers.

IDT is an emerging international carrier.
