Hi L, Couple points. I wouldn't think for a minute that what we hear is just rumors. I would almost guarantee you that talks with British Telecom were hot and heavy. I wouldn't promise you anything about the prices that get posted around the internet, but what it came down to is that a deal just couldn't get made. But I'm sure there was interest expressed by BT. The same is probably true with Sprint. It makes a lot of sense for both companies. So you've gotta believe talks have and will happen. The parts about deals by Monday and $52 a share are probably just rumors, but that talks have or are happening is probably true. It would be too stupid of Sprint not to look at companies like WinStar to solve their last mile problems. A lot of things can explain the different prices you hear. I think BT was wanting the whole company, or probably control. Bill would demand a high price for this. Sprint could just be offering cash to speed up the build out but only wanting access to the local markets for their investment. Maybe they're also trading some long distance for local??? But maybe for not giving up control and getting some LD access, Bill would take a lot less. Who knows. My thoughts on the market; when everybody starts turning bearish and things look the bleakest and everybody is expecting a major correction or bear market, it's probably a good sign the bottom is near. I've never seen the market go down when everybody expected it to. The market is real quick to discount any future problems. Monica and Japan and China and Russia may already be priced in. The average NASDAQ stock is probably down 40% now, even without exposure outside of the USA. And this happened while everyone thought we were still in a bull market. Now that everyone is realizing that we're in a correction, it's probably over. JMHO. In the "another rumor" category, I hear the company is suggesting to large shareholders, who obviously aren't very happy around 30, to "give us 10 days and we'll get you 10 points". Most likely nothing to it, but may indicate that news is coming. I get the feeling the next 30 days could be pretty exciting. Steve
