Which bull market are you talking about??? It really depends on where you think it starts as to my answer.

If I use VGY as the definer of the bull and bear then we had a 6+ month bear market that started sometime in June 1994 and ended in late January 1995. The bull ran until July 1998 and we are in a bear market!

DOW, on the other hand, by THAT criteria was only in a bear market between Nov 1994 and Jan 1995. However, in the VGY defined period, DOW attempted to make higher highs and almost got there in September.

So as to your question about a rally... I believe DOW will try to make it's old peak and not get there... you might say VGY was bearish in 1994 while DOW was consolidating whiich may happen this time!
