Baldwin, Regarding the merger remember "past history is no garuntee of future results". We have a risk reward ratio which is higher. The risk is getting higher, and so should the rewards. If you are just entering TLAB will it is good, but if you have been a share holder for the past year my friend we have seen 00000000 in my wallet... When you see 1 years gains being wiped out, it is no fun. I have a couple of questions. Why stick to TLAB?. Why not go to LU?. LU has optical networking. Why play around with second tier suppliers?. What differentiates LU from TLAB?. The market will reward LU faster than TLAB. Why not look at some TLAB negatives. Group think towards postives is very dangerous. Let us try to find some faults with TLAB? There should be, TLAB is not teflon coated. Maybe we could lighten up an invest in TLAB & LU to have your basis covered?. No doubt TLAB WAS a good company. Note: I referred to the word WAS. There are the Coherrent/Cien management now involved. TLAB has changed for the better or worse who knows. I have seen several mergers fail. Secondly, do I like this Pat guy from CIEN. I dont know. The nearest optical product is two years away. CIEN is TLAB's defensive play of the future.. Let's face it, in a couple of years TLAB's bread butter would be obsolete, and CIEN would/is the salvation.. What should I do now. I am just boken even. Maybe, I will lighten up on TLAB some, or maybe I will wait in the sidelines.. I have not been in TLAB as long as DAVE DICKERSON, but at this point in time I am kindda fed up with the ups and down off TLAB with no reward. In this day and age of electoric trading it is a $12 trip to the sidelines. I can reenter after I have seen the 40 channel make some headway in accounts like QWST,LVLT,etc. Screw T for the moment. Why has CIEN not penetrated the above?. Why is business going to Nortel etc. Is the CIEN product weak?. If there is so much demand for badwidth, QWST,LVLT,the RBOC's, should be at CIEN's door by now. CIEN had 2 years to accomplish this and they do NOT have even one RBOC customer?. Why!!. They have got small mom & pop CLEC's. My only gripe is about this AT&T stuff, and the clarity in the proxy. I got the impression that management CIEN, have not disclosed everything to the shareholders and hence an 8k filing, and the AT&T stuff release. Dave Dickerson, I to have heard the CC call. Have you heard a CC call of companies, about to accomplish a merger?. The sky is the limit. I still remember the cc call for COMS, etc. I can take all the stuff with a pinch of salt. what counts my friends is the jingle in your pocket for christmas... Bitter TLAB shareholder, who has learnt not to fall in love with any stock Immi
