All,

This news release from the company sounds positive, but I have no idea what this product is supposed to do. Maybe it's because I do PR for a living, but I think a little explanation of this technology would go a long way.

CompactFlash Wins Design Slot in New
Sound Vision Clarity 2.0 Platform for
Digital Cameras

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1998--SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK - news)
announced today that the new Sound Vision Inc. Clarity 2.0 Digital Imaging Platform for digital camera manufacturers

CompactFlash.

The Clarity 2.0, a one chip digital still imaging platform, consists of hardware, software and services which are designed
to provide digital camera manufacturers with a highly integrated solution. Clarity 2.0 shortens time-to-market while
decreasing development costs of new products.

Nelson Chan, vice president of marketing at SanDisk, said, ''The Clarity 2.0 design platform is an excellent indication
that digital camera manufacturers are dedicated to the fast growing market of digital imaging. SanDisk is pleased to have
its CompactFlash memory card chosen as a design element for the new Clarity 2.0 platform. With 49 digital cameras
currently on the market using CompactFlash as digital film, it is clear that Sound Vision has made the right choice to
include CF.''

Stuart Nixdorff, vice president of sales at Sound Vision, said, ''Our Clarity 2.0 design platform is designed to support
sensor resolutions of over 2 megapixels. This high resolution camera design requires us to integrate high capacity film
cards. SanDisk is shipping the industry's highest capacity CF cards and plans to keep that leadership role in the future.
We are delighted to include SanDisk CompactFlash as a reference element of our new Clarity 2.0 design platform. With a
flawless record for reliability and compatibility, SanDisk CF cards are being used by most of the top digital camera
manufacturers and by adding support in our Clarity 2.0 platform, we expect they will continue to be the leading
CompactFlash company.''

SanDisk's CF memory cards are available at retail locations in capacities of 4, 8, 10, 15, 20, 24, 30, 40, and 48MB.
