Scanning the marketplace, Muffy spied her Mex. Although they were separated by the density of the crowd, Mex was not so very distant from her as the crow flies, and speaking of flies, Muffy's buttery coating had attracted so many of them on this warm day that their very numbers afforded her three or four most personal of regions some measure of protection from the stares of the throng. And well might they stare at our comely heroine, so striking was she as she offered up for their visual gratification alternate expanses of gleaming naked flesh and churning tracts of insects.

Over the heads of her admirers, Muffy cried out to Mex, "I am here, dear one! Over here! Come buy me a garment or two from this hag! She's selling robes, saris, and pj's!"

Mex, on hearing his name called out, turned toward the sweet sound, and sought its source. When his eyes fell upon the in-parts-gleaming, in-parts-teeming Muffy, Mex's heart raced, not only because the sight of even those few still-visible patches of her pink skin naturally brought out the primal male in this man-who-oft-proclaimed-his love-of-women, but because he perceived that Muffy was in peril-- the aforementioned hag had not taken lightly Muffy's shouted characterization of her, and was at this moment holding aloft a wicked looking scimitar that she had snatched from her displayed wares, and with which she clearly intended to cleave our Muffy's head in twain.
