Paul Re: 300 MHz AMD K6-2 Notebook

I was in Lap-top Superstore (a big northeast, or maybe national, laptop retailer). They told me they'd have their own version of a K6-2 based 300 MHz laptop within the month. The sales guy there even told me he had played with a preproduction model.

How come it is that Intel doesn't have a MHz advantage over AMD in the notebook arena? Could it be that PII-based notebooks can't take advantage of the thermal efficiencies of full slot 1?
