Appian software is the only one that saves
the programs in a predetermined position.

Those cards are pricey. It comes down
to how much you want to pay for multimonitor
capability and what configurations you
can live without.

For the price saved in going
Win 98/couple of cards, there is no big deal
with taking a second to move a program from
one screen to the next.

windows in a predetermined position each morning when I turn on the machine? <<

No! But you could use Windows 98 WSH, Windows Scripting Host, to perform this task for you. However writing a script to save and restore your video displays is not a trivial task. Most people will look for other solutions.

These 2 cards will work with win98 and multi-monitor.
I have a working system today.
Here are the components that I have used:

Intel 440 lx chipset motherboard
pentII 266 cpu
64 meg dimm SDram 10ns 168 pin
1.44 fd
3.2gb hd
32x CD rom
S3 3D Virge 4meg PCI(retail $40 each Video card)-2
Decaview pa630 21" monitors -2
sound card speakers case mouse keyboard
Suprasonic II v.90 shotgun modem 88,000bps
I am downloading at 6k bytes per second (actual)
here in the SF bay area using Value.net
as ISP. Expensive($40) unlimited. But way better
than ISDN at $300+ per month real cost. Cable modem
won't be here for a year.
Now I will keep this machine clean except for netscape
and Win98 OS.
I am waiting to load Real Tick 3 to see how it will run.
I have had most drivers and junk taken out of OS.
I will use a different machine for mirc and email etc.
