That could be, but it is not likely. Actually, your remark is probably one of those very far-fetched ideas which are associated with the "fringe" of the investment population. If the capitalization of the entire U.S. stock market were to go to zero, there would be anarchy, rampant starvation, etc.

Good luck with your investments. With ideas like that, you'll need it.
