Don, be careful with these assumptions. Using your own analysis on PUTS:

COMPAQ 30 PUT:
Sep .5 1% over parity ($34.81)
J99 1.5 4%
J00 3.8 11%

DELL 100 PUT:
Sep 5.88 11% over parity (105.63)
J99 11.38 16%
J00 19.25 24%

Does this mean that the market is expecting Dell to depreciate? The puts seem awfully expensive, don't they?

Actually, Dell options - puts AND calls - are more expensive because Dell is more volatile that CPQ.
