Mine do, but many get blind-sided because management can't favor analysts with information they don't make publicly available. If an analyst is good, he can smell change coming because he deals with an industry and should be talking to a covered company's competitors, distributors and customers.

Amazon had an upside earnings surprise last quarter. They said in the conference call that they were guiding estimates lower because they were accelerating marketing spending in upcoming quarters. That's not the same.
