Gorak it's happened to me and Datek allows you to maintain the postition with 30% margin requirements.

Gorak, I maintained only a small account at Datek last year, and all that was in it was one $6 stock, which subsequently fell below 5. Datek never said anything about it, and I maintained the position for months. The debit balance was small though, I'm sure it would have been a different story if I had used 200% equity to buy the stock.
