Henry Niman: Cheerleader and Seer

This thread is indeed fortunate to have Henry Niman as a contributor. I mean that. He knows more than the rest of us, and he is not reluctant to share his knowledge.

As a cheerleader, his enthusiasm knows no bounds. Cheering for a stock may not be all that useful, but it can't hurt, either, I suppose.

Frankly, however, I am coming to believe that as a seer Henry is fallable. Every time I see his heading for this thread (from 1996) about a Ligand "breakout," I wonder. When, if ever, will the "big boys," to use Henry's terminology, let Ligand have its day in the sun? Admittedly, this is not the first time I have questioned Henry's acumen. There was an earlier time when I was inclined to be skeptical, back on the Prodigy board, when Henry asserted that O.J.'s DNA results were the consequence of police bungling or worse. But then I decided that no one as obviously intelligent as Henry could be flat out wrong on two out of two subjects. As he was clearly off base on Simpson, I concluded he must be right on Ligand, and I invested accordingly.

Henry, I am holding fast, though unfortunately with a small loss, to say nothing of the lost opportunity cost of up to four years of dead money. To be honest, however, my faith in you as a seer is ebbing. When, oh when, will the breakout occur?

Where'd He Go? Thanks for the great link! There is a wealth of biotech info there, and in related sites. Tons and tons of good info.

Thanks, and good luck, Bob
