IMHO Acompora is full of it. The only reason he has a name is that on Tuesday there was a big Dow drop and the network talking heads said it was his newsletter's fault (not!). Anyhow, this gave him media exposure and got him on Wall Street Week where he predicted a monster drop in Dow. He then stammered and waffled under questioning showing how shallow he is. Oh yeah, and absolutely nobody on the show even remotely agreed with him. Here are some of the points that he can't rationalize:

a large decrease of US exports to Asia.
We only export about 4% of our stuff to Asia. They don't have any money to buy anything - that's why we go there in the first place for manufacturing. How can you have a big drop when you only start with 4%?

Impact would take place in the form of cheap imports hitting our market
There may be some marginal impact here but if you got everybody working for a bowl of rice a half-bowl isn't going to make much difference. Labor doesn't add that much to the product cost because you already beat it into the ground. I don't see any products selling at 1/3 what they sold for a year ago. I just see the normal decrease you would expect in products like computers.

Probably more of a spook is the Clinton deal (who's going to be president next month and what are his policies?). This problem should be over Monday.

There is a threat to market stability if Asia or Russia goes to civil war because we then have to go back into military spending. At the moment, however, it doesn't seem that bad.

Hopefully, Slick Willie Clinton will get by on Monday. Odds are in his favor. The market makers will place their bets immediately. Shortly after this we have DELL and LYCOS reporting. If the reports are good CPQ and everybody should go up.
