Hey Guys.......... Caught this being advertised on Yahoo this morning. Its been a while since I've read the thread. But this should be of interest to you. Here ya go: zing.com From the site: HOW DOES ZING WORK? Zing is based on a remarkable new technology that lets you use the time it takes to download Web pages (the interstitial wait) to have more fun surfing or working. The Zing player is an application that works with Microsoft and Netscape browsers to deliver entertainment while you wait. Zing automatically senses when a Web page is loading, and instantly fills your browser window with Zing spots-high quality, full-screen images, information, animation and sound. When the viewer detects that a new page is ready to be displayed, the player instantly moves out of the way, so you can continue surfing. The Zing player is a free download. It takes about 7 minutes to download using a 28.8 baud modem. Once you've installed the software, Zing kicks into action, automatically and invisibly whenever you start up Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Explorer. Based on the channels you choose, Zing moves the content of those channels from our Zing servers and temporarily stores them on your hard drive transparently. So it's ready to show them whenever you have to wait. Zing not only understands when you're waiting for your next Web page, but when you're not waiting. Zing takes advantage of the time you aren't looking for Web pages to download Zing spots from the net. We call this, "Smart-pull "-it's technology exclusive to Zing. And because the player knows when you're looking and when you're not-Zing never slows you down. Smart-pull works only when your system isn't active. After you download Zing, Smart-pull seamlessly moves content from the channels that you select onto your computer's hard drive whenever your system is idle (Zing files are small-only 10K to 90K each, and your computer only needs 5 MB to run it). In fact, Zing uses Smart-pull to automatically update itself. So you never have to download it a second time. Zing never interferes with what you're doing on the Net. It simply fills the moments you spend waiting for Web pages to load with programming you have selected. Because Smart-pull stops working when you start, there's never a delay; never a slow down.
