What in the heck is this guy gonna do with $38MM? I want an itemized list. I have no idea what other investments the guy will make with the money raised from selling those shares. But if I had my money tied up substantially in a single company I might look to diversify, especially if I had as many unvested options that would be coming to me in the future as I currently owned in stock. Why don't you ask Gates why he sells so much MSFT every quarter. He'd be much richer now if he'd never sold a share but risk management requires at least some degree of diversification.
