Jurgis, Lawrence Kam is usually brutally honest. For example, >In essence, we're all just a bunch of greedy capitalist pigs looking to make a buck.<

But when Kam adds >Any information that will bring us closer to said goal will be met with extreme gratitude.<, he's not being his usual honest self. Instead, he's trying to be polite, for some strange reason. Or maybe he's trying to be friendly.

But don't expect much in the way of gratitude.
