OT I think the point he was trying to make was, if you enter anything other than "retired" for an occupation, then you are employed. Therefore, if someone were to enter "investor" as an occupation, he would be subject to paying the FICA tax on his profits. Whatever. I'll go with "retired".

Timbo, since this isn't a TAX BB, I can only suggest that this taxpayer find another advisor PRONTO, as the advice he is apparently getting is off-the-wall. I prefer tax advice from a tax PRO, and not from a barber or shoemaker. The advice posted sounds like it's coming from the later. (g)
