Craig, since you, TSC and the NY Times appear to all agree that CIEN mislead investors on the T deal, I'll defer to your knowledge. I personally never considered T a done deal and recall the discussion on the CIEN thread being a constant refrain of "when will AT&T sign up?" In any event, I think it's fair to say that CIEN's stock price and resulting gyrations already discounted to some extent the uncertainty of the AT&T deal. As for the NY Times article today (which I found generally well-reasoned), I found one mistake and that is the implication by the author that TLAB/CIEN mislead investors about dilution. I recall from day one of the merger announcement the cautionary statements by Birck that the merger would be slightly dilutive; there is nothing new there. Thanks for your response.
