Does anyone know what promo shares are?

For example shares that are purchased at 3.65 by someone in the IR team of a any particular company could actually be promotion shares.

Basically these are shares that someone invovled in the IR team of a company will purchase at a high price, however these shares are never intended to be traded.

This validates the IR man in telling shareholders that there is value in the stock because the IR man himself has a bought a position at 3.65. The Ir man will compassionately tell you "I know how you feel, I have a position at 3.65, but dont worry the company is doing everything they said they and they will prove it to us. Hang on."

God knows the head IR man cant be wrong.

The IR team cant tell you to hold ( although some have ), however telling you that they have a position at 3.65 encourages shareholders to have faith and to hang on or GO long.

On paper it all looks legal. Instead of the company paying 70,000 to the head IR man, they actually pay that person 100,000 of which 30,000 must be spent on company shares at a high price and must not be sold. It provides credibilty to the head IR man when he needs to pacify shareholders as the stock tumbles.

This scenario would not apply to Tri-vision of course.

I am just trying to share what things I have been learning about the stock market.

Has any one else heard of any other shennanigans that gone on in the stock market?

I wish the best to all TVL shareholders .
