We're not talking about a ban on selling, only SHORTselling. There's nothing wrong with selling stock you own. It's selling stock you DON'T own that's helped get the VSE in its present pickle. A ban on shorting would not decrease liquidity. On the contrary, it would encourage wary investors to BUY stocks (many of which are trading below book value). That would help push the VSE up from its present life-support level. There are still many good companies, such as Donner, trading on the VSE. Anyway, I'm pleased to see there are other people who care that the VSE is in danger of disappearing.
