Paul, They(CE) seem to be going the way of increased complexity and that seems to resemble the ever increasing bloat that drove the x86 series.
I think the small CE machines will populate their own niche leaving the PALM to it's niche.Gates seems to be grooming CE for a sea of niches though? A tiny keyboard to fit a palm will never fly, voice recognition for a tiny CE machine might be doable in 2 years but who wants to mutter into a machine in public? Better tape it and transcribe to V/R later as those machines are already optimised at $50
What ultra low power CPUs with enough speed exist/will exist to save CE? Gates has the habit of persisting until he gets it right, ruining the market for others as he goes in a spoiler way(dog n manger) If and when he gets there will the Palm OS be so close optimal that others will never get in?
