All readers

Let's give our management some credit for knowing what they are doing. I don't believe they are out to deceive anyone. (and I own cd & prior gnt)<g> I am sure since the article is in the sunday ny times we will see some discussion on the matter Monday.

It may be another opportunity to buy more if all the readers of the article jumped to the same conclusion as this thread.

What a bunch of nervous folks..... I guess, I am back buying again on Monday.... see ya John

Gary, on Friday TLAB traded around 32 million shares. Assuming two trades for every share actually changing hands, that implies that around 16 million shares actually changed hands. That can only mean heavy selling by institutions. That also sounds to me as if they were blindsided.

The clear implication of the Times article is that TLAB investors were not adequately informed of Ciena's problems, and that it was only the recent disclosure by Ciena that gave the street any inkling of what was a long-standing problem. The conference call on Friday did not assuage the fear of the funds.

Second, at the risk of sounding paranoid, is it possible that the CFO's medical leave of absence actually has more to do with this deal than the rumors reported here about chemotherapy?

Gary, I know that you were an ASND shareholder. I am certain you recall the problems Eijabat had concerning his credibility immediately following the the CSCC merger. I hope that Birck has not embarked on a similar path.

TTFN,
CTC

Gary and others,

How do you see the downside risk of playing long/short CIEN/TLAB? If the deal doesn't come through, what the spread could be then? Also 4 points? Or we might see TLAB shot up while CIEN tank another 10+ pts?

Thanks.
