To all: The companies involved, CIEN/TLAB, have the products, management or foresight to come together as a stronger merging company. Some times people think too much about placing blame for a stock fall instead of who . . who caused it. Yes, many managers, institutions and some individuals bailed Friday after hearing the news. Think about the manner in which TLAB prices came down - this stock has had a tremendous short position established in the $80-90 range while we held our stock - convinced we had a $100 stock in hand. Do yourself a favor and look up the activity of a stock before a "short squeeze" occurs. When clarification is made the squeeze will be a wild up as it was down. Shares loaned to short will be called back and watch . . . . The portion of shares shorted can not relate to the companies and the businesses they operate.

Did any reports mention the April 20 and 29th reports on CIEN? Does any one remember the European HER deal for the new 40 channel CIEN product including 6 countries - going on to 33 major cities and 16 countries?

Remember the short squeeze begins only when they have bled all they can out of partial news - slanted opinions.

It's there and it will come - I hope you were not a part of the sell off - fine management is difficult to locate - Michael Birck is a wonderful person, leading an outstanding company in today and tomorrow's technology demands. I'm thankful to have participated as a shareholder since 1992. Let the shorts play their game - when it's over they will be without the shares of the future.

>> Why were they not forthcoming about CIEN's true financial picture at the time the deal was announced? <<

How were they not forthcoming?
