Paul, hello.

The Asian turnaround is happening now? From what I've heard, Japanese banks are starting to collapse, 40-50% of Indonesia's population are at or below the poverty line (2,100 calories per day, +/- $200/month income for >100 million people), China and others are staring at the prospect of currency devaluation, and the ripples of Asia's cash crisis are spreading to Australia, Europe, and the US in the form of missed loan payments and unshipped exports which they cannot pay for.

I work in Indonesia and travel through Singapore - and things in the region are pretty grim.

For my money, the Asian crisis still has a way to go before it turns around, JMHO.

Regards,

Aggie.

Paul, Agreed on the Asian turnaround- the educated classes are present, as are will power, plans, and ideas. The one missing item is capital availability which should correct itself as Asian banks recapitalize over the next year or two....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
