Great Maria B. moment. While gushing that Lehman was pushing TLAB and concluding that it would be "good for a pop" (which is was until everyone SOLD into her typically context-free CNBC pre-market report), Maria neglected to mention that the Lehman analyst assumed coverage of TLAB with a "buy" 8/13 - one day before it blew up on the CIEN warning.

So the same Lehman analyst who's pitching TLAB @ 58 1/4, assumed coverage at a "buy" one day before it lost a not so cool 13+ pts.; yet her reporting makes no mention of that fact - a fact that might just help explain part of the selling into the "pop".

How can you neglect to mention that fact? Recommending it on the eve of a monster blow-up and then 2 sessions and 13 pts. to the downside later saying it's still a buy - that's obviously part of the story.

Is CNBC's memory THAT bad?
Or are they THAT co-opted?

I don't think David Faber would have failed to mention the 8/13 "buy" rating.

Good trading,

Tom

Say now your in today's Washington Post. I think its time you started your own t-shirt business. Where do we write to get an official "redhead" t-shirt. congratulations again John

The online world also has its own heroes and the most beloved are the
anchors of CNBC's chatty morning financial show, "Squawk Box." On the
Web site for Silicon Investor, Cleveland homemaker Barbara Andre logs
on as "redhead" and leads a discussion titled "CNBC Guys: The Hunks of
Financial Television." "Joe Kernen, Mark Haines, David Faber -- those
guys are terrific," Andre said, referring to the show's hosts.
