David,

When you assume Mu will lose money on drams from TI fabs, I think you are assuming their costs are the same. But are those costs really the same? TI paid cash for the fab, didn't MU paid in stocks? Just asking.

Dave,

I am not confused you are confused. Fabeyes was talking about losses per quarter and that is what I was addressing. Try reading the posts a little slower. Cash flow is a completely different animal since spending money is not necessarily related to losing money. MU lost $106 million last quarter and with DRAM ASP's at current prices I expect half that loss this quarter.

As far as TXN fabs and their associated losses what ever gave you the idea that TXN was as efficient as MU in producing DRAM. Their $200million loss was for good reason and their exit from the business was for better reason.<g> As far as Micron's upgrade cost to bring the fabs down to .21 microns they said it will be $750 million. Where you get the $1billion is beyond me. Finally the $800 billion for TXN fabs and the $750 million for upgrading is all they can writeoff which is far less than the few billion TXN had to writeoff.

Don't you "forever bears" get tired of fooling yourselves with all your misinformation???<g> I know you are all waiting for the teens and single digits for MU and it should certainly happen if even a fraction of your misinformation is true...but it hasn't happened and will not happen.... so at some point in time you should reassess your nonsensical fundamentals.<g>

Let us not forget; the $750 million from TI is a LOAN, and from the mouth of SA can only be used to upgrade the TI fabs. If nothing else it will add that much, plus interest to the current debt.
