Actually in that era if a child killed a child it was a bigger tragedy than if a child kills 20 children today, percentage wise. Now that I've teed you off I'll admit that is cold but true.

Back during the build up of WW II and the Korean War the recruits from rural areas that hunted were much better soldiers as they could shoot.

I live out in what is called the sticks, about 1/2 hour from police protection. I'd hate to lose my guns. Also get called on to put some hurt critters out of their misery.

The US has tens of thousands of gun laws in place, every time a gun is misused a law is broken. The NRA does have one good point, enforce the laws when they are broken instead of making new ones.

I'm sure that we have different opinions on many things because we live in very different areas. Many laws and regulations should be made by local bodies and not sweeping mandates by the Feds.
